Product Overview

Our Precision Cartridge Heaters are high-performance tubular heating elements designed to deliver intense, localized heat with exceptional accuracy. Often referred to as "single-ended heaters" due to their convenient one-end wiring configuration, these elements are the industry standard for heating metal blocks, molds, and dies.

Constructed with a heavy-duty metal sheath and compacted high-purity Magnesium Oxide (MgO) insulation, our cartridge heaters offer rapid heat-up times and long-term durability. They are engineered to fit tightly into drilled holes, ensuring maximum thermal transfer efficiency for plastic molding, packaging machinery, semiconductor manufacturing, and laboratory equipment.

Key Features & Benefits

Rapid Thermal Response: The compacted MgO insulation provides excellent dielectric strength and high thermal conductivity, allowing the heater to reach operating temperature in seconds.
High Watt Density: Capable of surface power densities up to 60 W/cm², making them suitable for applications requiring intense heat in a small footprint.
Durable Construction: Available in Stainless Steel (SS304/316), Incoloy, and Inconel sheaths to resist oxidation, corrosion, and thermal shock.
Single-Ended Design: The "one-end-out" wiring structure simplifies installation and reduces the complexity of electrical connections in tight spaces.
Customizable Cold Ends: We can adjust the length of the unheated "cold end" (typically 5-20mm) to ensure heat is applied exactly where needed, protecting seals and wiring.

Applications

Cartridge heaters are versatile components used across a wide range of industries:

Application                                                                                              Function
Injection Molding                            Precise temperature control for mold cavities and hot runner systems.
Packaging Machinery                   Heating sealing jaws, crimpers, and cutting blades.
Die Casting                                       Maintaining optimal temperatures for metal dies and nozzles.
Medical Equipment                      Sterilization and heating of analytical instruments.
3D Printing                                      Heating hotends and build plates for high-performance materials.

Installation & Best Practices

To ensure maximum lifespan and performance, we recommend the following:
Tight Fit: The heater should be inserted into a hole with a close tolerance (typically +0.1mm to +0.2mm clearance) to ensure efficient heat transfer.
Thermal Paste: Use high-temperature thermal paste to fill microscopic air gaps between the heater and the metal block.
Avoid Moisture: Store heaters in a dry environment. Moisture absorption can degrade insulation resistance.
Cold End Protection: Ensure the cold end (the non-heating section near the terminals) remains outside the heated zone to protect the wiring.
