Thermocouple wires

Details

Product Overview

Our Thermocouple Wires are engineered to provide accurate and reliable transmission of temperature data from the sensor probe to your control instrumentation. Manufactured to strict international standards (IEC 60584 / ANSI MC96.1), these wires ensure that the thermal electromotive force (EMF) generated by your sensor is transmitted without signal loss or interference.

Whether you need extension grade wire to bridge the distance between a sensor and a PLC, or compensating cable for cost-effective routing in benign environments, our solutions are designed to maintain measurement integrity across a wide range of industrial applications.

Key Features & Benefits

High Accuracy & Calibration: Available in Standard and Special Limits of Error (SLE) tolerances to match the precision requirements of your process.
Superior Noise Immunity: Options for shielded and twisted pair constructions minimize the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) common in industrial plants.
Diverse Insulation Materials: Choose from PVC, Fiberglass, PTFE (Teflon), or Ceramic insulation to match the temperature and chemical environment of your facility.
Color-Coded Identification: Compliant with ANSI and IEC color codes for easy identification of polarity and thermocouple type during installation and maintenance.
Mechanical Protection: Available with stainless steel over-braiding or armored sheaths for applications requiring resistance to abrasion, crushing, or physical impact.

Thermocouple Types & Capabilities

We stock and manufacture wires for all major thermocouple types, each suited for specific temperature ranges and environments.

Type                        Composition                              Temperature Range (Typical)                                                                                      Characteristics
Type K               Chromel / Alumel                                -200°C to +1260°C                        The most common general-purpose wire. Good oxidation resistance and wide temperature range.
Type J               Iron / Constantan                                  -40°C to +760°C                                           High output signal. Suitable for vacuum, reducing, or oxidizing atmospheres.
Type T            Copper / Constantan                             -200°C to +370°C                                         Highly stable. Ideal for cryogenics, food processing, and moist environments.
Type E          Chromel / Constantan                             -200°C to +900°C                               Highest output EMF of standard types. Strong signal for low-temperature applications.
Type N                Nicrosil / Nisil                                      -200°C to +1260°C                           High stability and resistance to high-temperature oxidation. A robust alternative to Type K.

Insulation & Jacket Materials

Select the right insulation to protect your signal and ensure safety.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride):
Temp: -20°C to +105°C
Use: General purpose, indoor use, low cost.

FEP / PTFE (Teflon):
Temp: -60°C to +260°C
Use: Excellent chemical resistance, moisture protection, and flexibility. Ideal for food and chemical industries.

Fiberglass:
Temp: -70°C to +540°C
Use: High heat resistance. Often used with a stainless steel braid for mechanical protection.

Ceramic / Nextel:
Temp: Up to +1200°C+
Use: Extreme high-temperature applications, such as furnace connections.
